Now don’t judge me but I have to admit that throughout all of my smoking ventures, this is my first time putting a flame to an @agingroomcigars . This is in no way a reflection of the cigar! Their cigars have built a reputation among seasoned cigar lovers. Aging Room is one of the leading brands from the Boutique Blends cigar company but they also joined with AJ Fernandez to produce their #Quartto line. While the F55/59 has been around for a while and rebranded, this puro Nicaraguan was just released in 2018 so it still may be new to some of you.
Initial Light and First 3rd:
The wrapper has a plush velvety feel to it that reminds me of chocolate truffles dusted with cocoa powder. The leaf veins are visible but aren’t elevated; giving it an exterior that’s smooth to the touch. The box pressed cigar took a minute to light evenly but after a few pulls, it corrected itself quickly. With a straight cut, the ventilation on the cigar is perfect. Even with the full pulls that I was getting, it took me some time to really pick up on the flavors. After about 5-10 minutes or so, the “truffle” looking cigar began to release its flavor allowing me to taste the fresh wood and cocoa notes.

Second 3rd
The beginning of the second 3rd pushes the wood to the back for an increase in cocoa flavor. Pepper joins the cocoa creating a spice chocolate profile. This is a complex balance that gives you earthy notes with some noticeable sweetness. The cigar is gentle in the way it relinquishes its flavor…meaning it slowly unravels the various notes as you smoke through the 2nd portion. Heading towards my final 3rd, you can pick up even more sweetness.
Final 3rd
I want to mention how impressed I am of the Quartto’s complexity with the layered flavors. The sweet notes, the pepper, cocoa, and now grass hay gives the cigar a bold body. I like that the cigar seems to be a very easy smoke. Most puro Nicaraguan cigars that I’ve smoked are upfront with their spice. It’s a nice casual medium to full bodied smoke that I wouldn’t mind lighting up again. Depending on when you are going to smoke this, it would be excellent with either a dark roast coffee or dry earthy red wine.
