@lfdcigars and Litto Gomez has a history of blending some amazing cigars. In 2015, it was his son’s, Tony Gomez, turn to roll out the company’s newest product. Tony isn’t new to making excellent blends. He had already proven himself with the LFD Chapter One and Capitulo II. This is LFDs darker, single sized cigar. Latin for “The Night”, the La Nox is made of Dominican filler with a San Andres Mexican binder and rich dark Brazilian Maduro wrapper. Now being a hard to find cigar, I wanted to write up a review before it’s no longer available.
Initial Light and First 3rd
The LFD LaNox is a densely packed cigar with a rough and rugged exterior that gives it an old world look….very rustic. Underneath the double black and blue band decorated with a crescent moon and midnight sky is a single seam that spirals up the cigar with small veins. The aroma was one of rich raisin and cream. Taking a pull before lighting, I was able to tell that the ventilation was quite open. Tastes of creamy dark fruit and sweet tobacco were quite easily picked up once lit. Lightly toasted bread is present on the exhale. The LaNox is very smooth

Second 3rd
The cream and dark fruit are unrelenting and now have a pinch of white pepper (mild spice). Without any significant change within the first ~1.5in of the cigar, it’s not that the cigar isn’t interesting but I’m more so comfortable and relaxed with the LaNox. And almost on cue to make me back track on what I was just saying, a bright orange peel note joins the fray and perks up the delicate profile. The smoke is plentiful and very buttery. The wrapper has started to produce an oily sheen on the burn ring just below the layered black and white ash.
Final 3rd
The pepper picked up in this portion, but it’s even more noticeable on the retrohale. The body and strength are constant from beginning to end. Halfway through the final 3rd, the sweet fruit is no longer apparent and is replaced with more of the toasted bread, chocolate, and a little charred nut. This is a cigar you want after a long day and you want to simply relax. It’s the personification of Smokey Robinson’s voice and Kenny G sax doing a duet.
